Gingivitis
Considered the initial or a preliminary phase of gum disease, gingivitis is reversible. This is because, at this early stage, it’s straightforward to avoid the formation of bacterial plaque and prevent it from spreading throughout the mouth.

Periodontitis
Known as the second or advanced state of gums disease, periodontitis is a disease that cannot be cured. When the disease is not treated at an early stage, and the formation of a plaque leads to an extreme level of damage to the gums and the teeth due to the formation of tartar, the longer the development of gingivitis is allowed to last, the longer bleeding gums, tooth cavities, painful toothache, difficulty chewing, and even the loss of a tooth can happen.
